Onto the cliff over the Atlantic Ocean are these white and blue painted houses of the historical centre. Old fishermen houses, chapels armed with azulejos and a labyrinth from cobblestone alleys, that's Ericeira! You find here always something to discover. Cafes, Surf shops and Boutiques always invites for a little walk.
Ericeiras night life is ruled by hot rhythm and latin temperament. Specially in summer and over the weekends the Restaurants, Bars and Discos are full of people.
Here and now a little selection, our personal tips for you:
From the terrace of the Café Central you have a nice view over the Praça da República (Jogo da Bola) to observe their hustle and bustle. Around that square you find several Cafes and Bars (WLAN), like the Bamboo Bar right next to the Turismo. Owner Nelson and his family offers little snacks, fresh juices and, and, and Surfshop with little Cafe is the Magic Quiver Shop, located in front of the Casa da Cultura. Owner Mario sometimes organizes DJ's or little Concerts. Every Wednesday night the Tubo Bar is the place to be. Just follow the sound of the music! On the way go for a little “Ginjinha” into the Lebre Bar. A bit hidden and more quiet is the Bar Manconsul.
To eat good fish go to the Restaurant Mar d'Areia, close to the Mercado Municipal Well priced seafood you get into the Tascinha do Joy above the Praia dos Pescadores. Pão d'Alho is the oldest Pizzeria in Ericeira and owner Luis one of the first surfers from Ericeira. A bit more expensive but cult are the two Restaurants Tic Tac and Tic Tapas, very good meat dishes! Amazing grilled Polvo (Octopus) you'll find into the Prim. And the Tasca de boa Viagem is good for fish-, meat- and veggie dishes.
At the Foz do Lizandro beach you'll find a wodden promenade with serveral Bars and Restaurants. Na Onda Bar does different themes, like “Sushi” or “Mexican Night”. Restaurant Bela Sombra is good for a grilled fish.
About several Bars we spoke already, like Bamboo Bar, Tubo Bar and Manconsul. Also nice are Bar Pedro Pescador behind the same names Hotel. Juke Box and Hemingway's next to tha Tic Tapas. A must go is the Adega Bar 1987. Most of these Bars offers DJ's and little concerts. And if you don't want to sleep already go into the Discoteca Ouriço You'll meet there everybody else who still wants to dance and have fun.
